Legal Techniques
All submissions are allowed, including:
• Leg locks
• Spine locks
• Face cranks
• Neck cranks
• Twisters
• Smothers

Illegal Actions
• Slams are not allowed unless part of one continuous movement during a takedown
• No strikes
• No fish hooks
• No eye gouging
• No oil checks
• No inserting fingers or toes in any orifices

Match Duration
• All matches are 10 minutes long
​
Scoring System
• A submission wins the match instantly
• If no submission occurs, the result is decided based on points scored
Submission attempts are defined as legitimate attacks that require the opponent to escape or defend (e.g. fully locked triangle, armbar, kimura, etc.)
• Each valid submission attempt = 1 point
• Scoring is handled by three judges
• A point is only awarded when 2 out of 3 judges agree
Tiebreaker:
• If scores are tied, the judges will decide the winner based on:
• Who attacked more
• Who was more aggressive in seeking the finish
Penalty Points:
• Given for:
• Stalling
• Unsportsmanlike conduct
• Attempting to game the system
• Penalty points are subtracted from the score
• Two judges must agree to issue a penalty

Boundaries
• The mat area includes a black square and an outer red square
• Entering the red square signals the referee to prepare for a possible reset.
Out-of-Bounds Rules:
• If the position cannot be safely or fairly reset, the match is restarted standing
• If a competitor intentionally exits the mat area while in a submission:
• They receive a penalty point
• Their opponent receives the submission point
• Deliberately pushing your opponent out of bounds will result in a penalty point
Coaches:
•Each competitor will be allowed 1 coach only mat side
•Coaches should not be complaining or trying to persuade judges or referees. This will lead to immediate penalty points.
